AT&T Works Hard at Stepping Stone Shelter for Women

On Thursday, April 19th a group of 12 AT&T employees arrived at the Stepping Stone Shelter for Women and rolled up their sleeves to make a difference. This group consisted of employees from Wisconsin and Michigan that came to an AT&T meeting in Michigan City on Wednesday and decided to complete a service project together before they left the area. Teri Wozniak, one of the team, contacted the Volunteer Center after finding the United Way of Laporte’s website, www.unitedwaylpc.org.

The Volunteer Center was able to arrange the project for the Shelter where a few painted inside, while outside, others weeded, edged, raked, and mulched the yard. Rosemary, Shelter Manager, stated, “we were absolutely thrilled with all the work they were able to accomplish in 3 hours and the yard is beautiful now….we can’t thank them enough”! If your company is interested in building morale and giving back to the community by completing a service project, contact Kathy at kathyb@unitedwaypc.org or call (219) 464-3583.
